Charlie Davis is one of the Conservative councillors for Eltham Town & Avery Hill ward and the Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group on Greenwich Council. He stood as the Conservative candidate for Eltham & Chislehurst in the General Election in July 2024
Charlie grew up in Eltham and has lived in Eltham & Chislehurst for most of his life, he went to school in Lee and still lives locally with his partner Alice, who works for the NHS, and their two daughters.
He is passionate about South East London and making our area the best possible place to live and raise a family.
Prior to being re-elected to Greenwich Council in a by-election in October 2024, Charlie had previously served as a local councillor in Greenwich from 2016 to 2022 for the old Eltham North ward. During his time on the Council previously, Charlie led the opposition to Sadiq Khan's closure of Eltham Police Station and has campaigned vigorously to keep a permanent police presence in the local area. He has backed campaigns for a local police base in Kidbrooke Village, which is due to open in 2025, as well as police bases in Eltham and Chislehurst to cut down on officer time lost travelling to the areas they represent.
Professionally, Charlie has spent the majority of his career working to help entrepreneurs and small business owners access the funding they need to grow their business. During COVID, Charlie successfully lobbied for Greenwich Council to introduce a grant supporting bars and pubs during lockdown to ensure those businesses survived during the pandemic.
Away from politics, Charlie is a keen runner having previously run multiple marathons (including London which he is running again in 2025!), an occasional rugby player for Old Colfeians, and a long-suffering West Ham fan. When his Saturday afternoons aren’t taken up with politics or sport, he loves enjoying the abundance of green space locally with his partner and daughter.
